Job description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In alignment with DCN policy, this role involves reviewing treatment and financial plans with patients. You will oversee patient billing by preparing and submitting necessary pre-determination documentation and explaining the Northern Dental Plan (NDP) sliding fee scale when applicable. Additionally, you will be responsible for collecting payments from patients. This position requires greeting patients both over the phone and in person, as well as scheduling and confirming appointments while ensuring all relevant information is accurately recorded. You will maintain a re-care system that encourages patients to adhere to necessary preventative maintenance schedules and procedures. Providing exceptional customer service and fostering positive relationships with staff are paramount in this role. You will also be tasked with delivering timely and accurate information, both verbally and in writing, to dentists, the DCN Office, and senior management as required. Furthermore, you will handle customer inquiries, comments, praise, and complaints received through various channels, including letters, emails, and in-person communications.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities will also include processing incoming mail, assisting in managing the inventory of front desk supplies, and performing administrative tasks during staff absences.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The position entails tasks that typically result in minimal exposure to illness and injury, such as minor burns, cuts, abrasions, or falls. Work conditions may occasionally be mildly uncomfortable due to factors like temperature, noise, or ventilation. Some travel may be required. The role demands frequent physical activity (over 2/3 of the working days), including the ability to see, sit, communicate, and use a keyboard. It requires walking and prolonged sitting while viewing a monitor, along with manual dexterity for various tasks.
