Job description:
We are seeking a professional, friendly, and organized front desk receptionist to join our expanding team in South Lyon. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all functions essential to ensuring an efficient and productive patient flow throughout the processes of check-in, treatment, and check-out. As the primary point of contact for all non-clinical patient services, your duties will include managing the patient scheduling process, collecting and processing patient payments, maintaining accurate patient charts and electronic medical records, organizing the front desk area, and delivering exceptional customer service to our patients.
Our clinic operates from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and some Saturday shifts may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collect and input new patient demographic information; update existing patient data as necessary to ensure billing accuracy.
– Obtain insurance information in accordance with office policies.
– Verify insurance benefits and secure authorizations as required to facilitate patient services.
– Collect co-pays and outstanding balances in compliance with office policies.
– Review all forms for accuracy and completeness per office standards.
– Schedule patient appointments during the check-out process.
– Manage incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff members.
– Maintain a clean and orderly waiting area, contributing to the overall patient experience and demonstrating our commitment to quality care.
– Adhere to HIPAA regulations and guidelines, ensuring the highest levels of patient privacy and trust.
– Assist the Director and Practice Manager with additional duties as needed, providing opportunities for professional development within the field of healthcare administration.
Qualifications:
– A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a medical front office is preferred.
– Exceptional telephone communication skills.
– Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
– Previous experience with medical software is an advantage.
– A team-oriented attitude, demonstrating energy and a commitment to excellent customer service.
