Job description:

We are seeking a professional, friendly, and organized front desk receptionist to become an integral part of our growing team in South Lyon. In this role, you will coordinate all functions necessary for ensuring efficient and productive patient flow throughout the check-in, treatment, and check-out processes. As the primary point of contact for non-clinical patient services, your responsibilities will include managing the patient scheduling process, collecting, posting, and depositing patient payments, maintaining patient charts and electronic medical records, organizing the front desk area, and delivering exceptional customer service to our patients.

The clinic operates from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and input new patient demographics into the computer system, ensuring accuracy for billing purposes.
  • Collect insurance information as outlined by office policies.
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain necessary authorizations for patient services.
  • Collect co-pays and outstanding balances in accordance with office procedures.
  • Review all documentation for accuracy and completeness per office policies.
  • Schedule patient appointments during check-out.
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the relevant staff members.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly waiting area to enhance the overall patient experience and reflect our commitment to quality care.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and guidelines to ensure the highest level of privacy and trust for our patients.
  • Complete additional tasks to assist the Director and Practice Manager, providing opportunities for professional growth within the healthcare administration field.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical front office is preferred.
  • Excellent telephone communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with medical software is preferred.
  • A team player with an energetic attitude and a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
