Position Overview

As a member of the Oncology Sales team, the Regional Oncology Specialist II (ROSII) will be responsible for formulating and executing strategies to enhance the utilization of Exact Sciences’ products within targeted accounts. This role will necessitate a budget-conscious approach that aligns with corporate objectives while effectively communicating key selling messages. The product portfolio may include OncoExTra, OncoDetect (MRD), and RiskGuard (Hereditary Cancer Testing). The ROSII will prioritize exceptional customer service to establish Exact Sciences as a best-in-class assay provider.

The ROSII’s strategic plans will address complex challenges in a dynamic healthcare environment, emphasizing the development of robust customer relationships. This will involve leveraging clinical and scientific expertise, insights from key stakeholders, and a persuasive sales approach to navigate a highly competitive marketplace. A swift comprehension of key clinical and political issues pertinent to the territory will be essential in this role, as the ROSII commits to achieving the objectives outlined in their sales plan.

Additionally, the ROSII will play a crucial role in disseminating vital information that supports the overall mission of Exact Sciences. This will involve providing actionable feedback to ensure informed decision-making at all organizational levels, from national to regional and area teams, as well as collaborating with managed care, reimbursement entities, patients—including support groups—and providers to facilitate product access.

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

– Consistently achieve or surpass sales targets within an assigned geographic territory through regular field-based interactions with healthcare providers and their staff.
– Drive sales of company products and services by cultivating new accounts while deepening relationships within existing ones.
– Exhibit advanced territory management, strategic planning, and execution skills.
– Formulate and implement impactful tactical plans that maximize product utilization in priority accounts, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and corporate objectives.
– Engage with a thorough understanding of territory-specific clinical and political factors and allocate necessary time to fulfill sales plan objectives.
– Foster growth by maintaining comprehensive knowledge of scientific advancements, relevant disease states, competitive dynamics, and external factors influencing our business.
– Complete all required training programs, demonstrating proficiency in the complexities of genomic testing and Exact Sciences’ Precision Oncology products.
– Dedicate time to gaining expertise in the disease states linked to Exact Sciences’ products and understanding competitive strengths and weaknesses; apply this knowledge to drive physician engagement and the utilization of our products.
– Maintain a commitment to excellence through continuous self-assessment and professional development.
– Attend sales meetings and professional conferences across the U.S. as required.
– Cultivate relationships with national opinion leaders in oncology and pathology within the designated territory.
– Communicate effectively with internal teams, management, and customers; incorporate feedback constructively.
– Prioritize tasks to achieve results while maintaining high quality standards, collaborating effectively within a team.

Minimum Qualifications

– Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience (four years) in lieu of a degree.
– A minimum of 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record of success in selling or promoting intricate products within medical oncology and/or diagnostics, or comparable experience in complex healthcare sales.
– At least 1 year of oncology experience, either in selling chemotherapy/immunotherapy or oncology diagnostics.
– Demonstrated clinical and scientific acumen, as well as proficiency in selling within competitive contexts.
– Proven territory or account management capabilities.
– Strong awareness of competitor dynamics and market trends influencing product usage.
– A valid driver’s license is required; restrictions on driving violations per the company policy apply.
– Ability to meet the essential duties of the role, with or without accommodations.
– Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

– Clinical experience within oncology sales environments, particularly with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or diagnostic products.

– Experience selling to surgeons and cancer centers.

Salary Range: $124,000.00 – $186,000.00

The annual base salary provided is specific to this role based in Detroit, MI, and may vary by hiring location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and stock options upon hiring and annually thereafter.
