Job description:

Responsible for directing the operations of a Walgreens Local Specialty Pharmacy, with a key responsibility for enhancing unit sales, profitability, and overall image through the effective management and protection of store assets. This includes the selective hiring, training, and development of personnel, as well as ensuring excellent service delivery to customers. The role involves building strong relationships, managing the clinical oversight of patients, and driving business growth at the location. Additionally, the incumbent will execute the duties of the Pharmacy Manager during their absence.

Customer Experience

  • Guarantees that store personnel provide welcoming service and accurate information while ensuring a courteous, friendly, and efficient experience for customers.
  • Addresses customer inquiries and complaints, striving to enhance the overall image of the pharmacy department while responding to the unique needs of customers as required.

Patient/Clinical Management

  • Collaborates with healthcare providers to assess the suitability of therapy and educates patients on medication administration, expected outcomes, side effect management, and adherence importance. Conducts regular follow-ups with patients during refill periods.

  • Manages store operations across front-end and pharmacy departments.

External Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution.
  • A current pharmacist license in the relevant state or a commitment to obtain one before the start date.
  • Minimum of one year of pharmacy experience in prescription filling, verification, and operations, with a strong understanding of insurance systems and legal compliance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws through relevant dispensing activities.
  • No recent written disciplinary actions and a satisfactory performance review for internal candidates.

  • At least two years of experience in indirectly managing teams or completion of a residency program.
