Reporting to the Wound Care Center Clinical Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator, the Registered Nurse (RN) will primarily focus on delivering patient care and managing intake and discharge processes for Wound Care Center patients as scheduled. Additionally, this position may include responsibilities as a Case Manager for a designated group of patients, contingent upon the specific Wound Care Center’s structure.

All Healogics employees are expected to carry out their responsibilities in alignment with Healogics policies, hospital protocols, and the standards established by accrediting organizations, as well as adherence to federal and state regulations and the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), where applicable.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care for Wound Care Center patients and manage patient intake and discharge processes per hospital and nursing standards.
  • Assist in the vein clinic as assigned, following completion of Healogics Vein Clinic training.
  • May serve as Case Manager for assigned patients, which includes:
    • Conducting initial nursing assessments and communicating findings to the assigned physician.
    • Assessing wound stages and measurements, documenting care plans, evaluating patient status concerning desired outcomes, and identifying situations requiring intervention.
    • Engaging in quality improvement initiatives, providing education to patients or caregivers, and advocating for patients in the delivery and coordination of care.
    • Performing hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) duties as assigned, following Healogics hyperbaric training.
    • Potentially assume hyperbaric safety director responsibilities after completing required training.
    • Collaborate as necessary with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director, and the Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs.
    • May act as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy.
    • Fulfill additional duties as required.

Required Education, Experience and Credentials:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Current RN license in the state of practice, maintained throughout employment.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Medical-Surgical, Home Health, or Wound Care Certification preferred.
  • Experience in wound care preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated competency in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge of regulatory and accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, with the ability to present and simplify complex technical terms for diverse audiences.
