Job description:
Homestead Health Care is actively seeking dedicated and compassionate Caregivers to join our team in Sterling Heights, MI. The Caregiver role entails providing essential support to our residents, assisting them with activities of daily living while also offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for helping others, possess excellent communication skills, and build authentic relationships with seniors. Candidates must have experience in medication administration and must be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:
– Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
– Administer medications in accordance with physician’s orders.
– Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
– Maintain a clean and orderly environment, which may involve light housekeeping.
– Report any changes in resident conditions to the supervisor.
– Communicate effectively and professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
– Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
– Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:
– Must be at least 18 years of age.
– High school diploma or GED required.
– Must pass a criminal background check.
– Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
– Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
– Availability to work every other weekend is mandatory.
– Must have reliable transportation.
– Valid driver’s license or ID is required.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with punctuality for all shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position with 8-hour shifts required. Caregivers must be available to work every other weekend.
