Job description:

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced caregivers to provide high-quality care to our residents in Sterling Heights, MI. The caregiver will assist residents with their daily living activities while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate should possess a genuine passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering meaningful relationships with seniors. Experience in administering medications is a requirement, and applicants must be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications as per physician’s orders.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and coworkers.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience in working with the elderly population.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver’s license or state ID.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively, with punctuality for all shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position with scheduled 8-hour shifts; caregivers will be required to work every other weekend.

Pay:
