Job description:

Homestead Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide outstanding care for our residents in Clinton Township, MI. The Caregiver will be responsible for assisting residents with their daily living activities while also offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for helping others, possess exceptional communication skills, and cultivate meaningful relationships with seniors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications in accordance with physicians’ orders.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain a clean environment, which may involve light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Prior experience working with the elderly is essential.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work every other weekend is mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Valid driver’s license or ID is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, and punctuality for all scheduled shifts is expected.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position consisting of 8-hour shifts, with the requirement of working every other weekend.

Compensation:
