Job description:

Part-time position, 3 PM – 11 PM. Training will be provided for the role. The Gilbert Residence has been proudly serving seniors in our community since 1960, offering outstanding care to 90 residents across our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Nursing Care units. Our mission is to uphold a tradition of excellence by delivering compassionate and dignified care to seniors within our community.

As a Resident Assistant at The Gilbert Residence, you will deliver exceptional care under the supervision of a Med-Tech. Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with activities of daily living, participating in or leading activities, and performing general housekeeping duties in the assisted living or memory care unit. Our goal is to support residents in maintaining an optimal level of independence, particularly in their daily activities and social interactions.

Duties:

• Assist residents with bathing (tub or shower)
• Support residents during meals
• Aid residents with toileting (urinal, bedside commode, bathroom)
• Provide assistance with grooming (hair care, nail care, foot care)
• Facilitate oral hygiene and denture care for residents
• Measure residents’ intake and output
• Collect urine and stool specimens as needed
• Assist residents in transferring from bed, chair, or wheelchair
• Help residents utilize walkers, wheelchairs, canes, or braces
• Perform range of motion exercises (active and passive)
• Assist with ambulation
• Aid residents in making beds and maintaining room tidiness
• Weigh residents and take vital signs
• Provide post-mortem care when necessary
• Practice standard precautions and special isolation techniques
• Help residents establish a structured daily routine
• Observe residents for any changes in function or behavior
• Assist in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of residents’ personal clothing
• Serve as an essential support to professional staff members
• Attend staff meetings, in-service programs, and unit conferences
• Perform any additional duties as assigned
