Job description:

Part-Time
Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

The Gilbert Residence is dedicated to providing essential nursing care to 32 residents, along with Supportive Living, Assisted Living, and Specialized Dementia care for an additional 58 residents. Upholding a long-standing tradition of excellence, we focus on delivering compassionate and dignified care.

The Resident Assistant plays a vital role in providing fundamental care to residents under the supervision of a Med-Tech. Responsibilities include assisting residents with activities of daily living and helping maintain cleanliness within the assisted living unit. The goal of this role is to promote and preserve each resident’s optimal level of independence, particularly in daily activities and social interactions.

Please note that The Gilbert Residence is a smoke-free campus. Smoking or the use of tobacco products is strictly prohibited on all premises, including buildings, grounds, parking lots, vehicles, and adjacent sidewalks. A drug and tobacco screening, along with a physical examination, will be required upon hire.

Duties

  • Assist residents with bathing, toileting, and grooming.
  • Aid residents in the use of walkers, wheelchairs, and canes.
  • Measure and document intake and output.
  • Conduct range of motion exercises.
  • Implement standard precautions and special isolation techniques as required.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions or important information to the supervisor.
  • Promote resident safety and uphold their rights.
  • Utilize effective communication techniques with residents, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Engage in training activities as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate charting.
  • Perform light cleaning duties.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (preferred).
  • Experience in Dementia/Alzheimer’s care is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and understand task requirements.
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • A positive and proactive attitude.
  • Reliability is essential.
  • Weekend availability is required.
