If you have a passion for or experience in woodworking or DIY projects, this opportunity may be the ideal fit for you! This customer service role involves providing customers with focused and comprehensive assistance by explaining, demonstrating, and selling woodworking supplies and tools. When not directly interacting with customers, the focus will shift to maintaining an orderly sales floor, which includes tasks such as facing merchandise, dusting, and general housekeeping. We are currently seeking candidates for both Sales Associate and Key Holder positions.

Key Responsibilities for the Sales Associate include, but are not limited to:

– Welcoming and engaging with customers upon their arrival.
– Assessing customers’ needs and proposing effective solutions.
– Answering woodworking-related inquiries and demonstrating a solid understanding of various tools and equipment.
– Operating cash registers and processing payments.
– Recommending products that best suit customers’ needs.
– Cleaning and restocking the store throughout the day.

Additional Key Holder responsibilities include:

– Opening and closing the store as directed by the store manager, along with performing various management tasks such as receiving, pricing, and merchandising.
– Processing transactions using cash registers.
– Handling customer refunds and overrides, while preparing the necessary documentation in accordance with established procedures.
– Assisting with unloading trucks, pricing, merchandising, and any other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:

– Exceptional customer service skills.
– A passion for helping others learn and grow in the woodworking hobby or business, along with a genuine interest in all aspects of woodworking.
– An energetic approach, self-motivation, and strong listening and communication abilities; bilingual skills are a plus.
– Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs, participating safely in team lifting as needed.
– A desire to network and cultivate relationships with customers.
– Flexibility to work a 5-day retail schedule (Monday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sundays, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for part-time roles), including designated holidays.
– Prior retail sales experience is advantageous, though not required.
