The Retail Sales Associate plays a vital role as the initial point of contact for retail customers, ensuring exemplary customer service and maintaining a sales floor that offers an enjoyable and safe shopping experience. This position requires collaboration with team members in a dynamic environment to efficiently prepare merchandise for sale and display. Additionally, the Retail Sales Associate provides essential operational support to the management team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work within varying schedules to accommodate store opening, production, and closing operations.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with both customers and Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries associates.
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Proven sales and customer service expertise with an ability to anticipate customer needs.
  • Competency in processing information and managing merchandise through a computer and POS register system; proficiency with calculator usage is necessary.

Physical Requirements

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of merchandise and respond promptly to customer inquiries.
  • Uphold dressing room standards and sales floor presentation, including reporting inventory needs to management.
  • Keep the register area organized and clean.
  • Adhere to store security protocols and utilize the paging system for communication.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as required, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting (including restrooms and dressing rooms).
  • Assist donors and customers outside retail locations by greeting them, receiving donations, and providing receipts.
  • Effectively communicate our mission and vision to donors and customers when soliciting monetary donations at the POS.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour.
