In your role as a Customer Service Associate, you will greet customers, assist them in finding the appropriate products and services for their home improvement projects, and ensure that all their needs are met. Your day will be filled with customer interactions, which may include helping them select and handle merchandise, occasionally loading products, and maintaining the organization of the inventory.

Your responsibilities may vary by department, as Customer Service Associates work in various areas including Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services based on hiring needs and individual skill sets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome customers to Lowe’s, respond to inquiries, and provide friendly and professional service.
  • Assist customers in locating and managing merchandise.
  • Replenish stock by identifying empty shelf spaces and restocking as needed.
  • Accurately process orders and deliveries to ensure customers receive their merchandise as expected.
  • Cross-train in various areas of the store to provide comprehensive customer service.
  • Prepare merchandise in your department according to customer requirements (e.g., tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, sawing wood, cutting drywall, and managing blinds).
  • Guide customers throughout their shopping or checkout experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
  • 6 months of experience with common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
  • Capability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic operations (addition and subtraction).
  • Ability to fulfill job duties which may require prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and other activities.
  • Minimum ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 months of experience in retail and/or customer service.
  • Proficiency in a second language.
  • Certification in a trade relevant to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials).
