Job description:

Impact Recruiting Solutions is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Health Care Facility Surveyor to join a distinguished Quality Improvement Consulting Company. In this pivotal role, you will operate in a dynamic and technically engaging environment, providing support to both internal and external clients across the nation.

Responsibilities:
This position is entirely remote with an expectation of up to 75% travel. As a Surveyor, you will either contribute as a team member or take the lead on various survey types, including re-certifications, comparative studies, complaint investigations, and revisits. Your surveys will encompass a range of facilities, including long-term care establishments, ambulatory surgical centers (ASC), Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICFs/IID), end-stage renal disease (ESRD) centers, Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF), hospitals, critical access hospitals, and hospice environments. Your primary responsibility will be to travel to healthcare facilities nationwide, conducting thorough assessments to ensure compliance with regulations that govern the quality of care provided to residents and customers.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Conducting on-site surveys of Medicare-Medicaid certified healthcare facilities to evaluate compliance with Federal regulations.
  • Preparing for surveys through off-site reviews, facility tours, care observations, record evaluations, and interviews with staff and family members to determine if care, treatment, and services adhere to Federal standards.
  • Analyzing various aspects of healthcare facility operations, focusing on the quality of care, consumer rights, and the physical environment.
  • Communicating non-compliance issues with key personnel throughout the review process and during the exit conference to ensure clarity regarding identified deficiencies.
  • Assessing the adequacy of proposed plans of correction.
  • Performing follow-up visits and monitoring surveys to confirm the implementation of corrective measures addressing identified deficiencies.
  • Assisting in facility and bureau training and participating in relevant work groups as necessary.

Requirements:

  • An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
  • Completion of CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training and successful passing of the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) are mandatory.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a surveyor accrediting or certifying facilities serving long-term care residents is required.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) must be maintained.
  • A demonstrated history of independent decision-making skills to effectively direct and manage the survey process.
  • Ability to independently set priorities and collaborate with others while conducting survey tasks.
  • Proficiency in discussing conflicts and controversies openly, as well as seeking assistance when necessary to facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time is essential.
