Impact Recruiting Solutions is currently seeking a highly skilled RN Health Care Facility Surveyor to join a Quality Improvement Consulting Company. This position offers a dynamic and technically enriching environment where you will support both internal and external customers nationwide.
As an RN Health Care Facility Surveyor, your role will be predominantly remote, involving up to 75% travel. You will serve either as a team member or a team leader during various types of surveys, including re-certification, comparative evaluations, complaint investigations, and revisits. Your responsibilities will extend across long-term care and non-long-term care facilities, such as ambulatory surgical centers (ASC), Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICFs/IID), end-stage renal disease (ESRD) facilities, Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF), hospitals, critical access hospitals, and hospice facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
– Conducting comprehensive on-site surveys of Medicare-Medicaid certified healthcare facilities to assess compliance with federal regulations.
– Engaging in thorough preparations for surveys, including off-site assessments, facility tours, care observations, record reviews, and interviews with staff and families, to ensure care, treatment, and services meet federal requirements.
– Evaluating various aspects of the healthcare facility system, focusing on the quality of care, consumers’ rights, and the physical environment of the facility.
– Clearly communicating any non-compliance issues with key personnel during site reviews and exit conferences to ensure understanding of the deficiencies identified.
– Assessing and determining the acceptability of plans of correction.
– Conducting follow-up visits and monitoring surveys to verify the implementation of corrective actions.
– Assisting with training for facilities and participating in relevant work groups as needed.
Requirements for this position include:
– An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
– Successful completion of CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training and passing the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT).
– A minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a surveyor, accrediting or certifying facilities that serve residents of long-term care facilities.
– Active and current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
– A demonstrated history of independent decision-making skills to effectively manage the survey process.
– The capability to independently prioritize tasks as well as collaboratively work with others during surveys.
– Strong ability to engage in constructive discussions concerning conflicts or controversies and seek assistance as necessary to resolve issues.
– Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time as required.
