Job Description:
As a Safety Manager – Commercial at Caddell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our construction projects across various domestic locations. We continually review resumes for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee safety protocols that align with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program, ensuring all accident prevention and fire protection measures are strictly followed on the assigned project.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager to design safe work plans for each phase of the project and for all crew tasks.
- Conduct comprehensive daily safety inspections of active work sites and document findings.
- Advise field personnel on safety-related issues, policies, procedures, and compliance with regulations.
- Facilitate initial safety orientation sessions for new employees.
- Monitor housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Act as a safety liaison between the construction teams, owners, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit all required safety-related documentation and reports.
- Perform investigations following accidents or property damage incidents.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.
Working Conditions:
This role is based in a construction environment requiring regular travel. Applicants must have the physical capability to crawl, climb, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods, as well as the ability to lift over 50 pounds. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable working in confined spaces and at significant heights while conducting tasks safely. Exposure to varying weather conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and wet environments, is expected.

You will report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with applicable OSHA regulations.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Certifications and Licenses:
- OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and Competent Persons Training are required.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a high school diploma/GED and five years of experience in safety management is required. A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health along with ten years of experience is preferred. Educational and experience requirements may be adjusted based on specific job criteria.
