What You Will Do
- Plan, implement, and supervise project safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program and all accident and fire protection programs on assigned projects.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager to develop safe work plans for all project phases and crew tasks.
- Conduct thorough daily safety inspections of all active work areas and document findings.
- Consult with field staff on safety issues, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Facilitate initial safety orientation sessions for new hires.
- Monitor housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Act as a construction safety liaison with owners and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit all required safety-related reports.
- Conduct post-accident and property damage investigations.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.
Working Conditions – This role requires a full-time presence in a construction setting, with travel as necessary. Candidates should have the physical ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for extended periods, and lift and hold items in excess of 50 lbs. Additionally, the ability to work in confined spaces and at extreme heights is essential while maintaining safety for oneself and others. Candidates should be prepared to endure hot, cold, humid, and wet conditions, as dictated by location.
Reporting Structure – This position reports directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.
What We Expect
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – The ideal candidate will possess effective written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a working knowledge of relevant OSHA regulations. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required.
Certifications, Licenses, etc. – Candidates must hold certifications in OSHA 30-hour safety training, First Aid/CPR, and Competent Person Training.
Education / Experience – A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required, along with five years of experience in safety management. A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health and ten years of experience is preferred. Please note that educational and experience requirements may vary based on specific job criteria.
