Job Description:
As a Safety Manager at Caddell, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enforcing project safety guidelines across various domestic locations. You will work jointly with the Corporate Safety Manager to develop and implement safe work plans for all phases of construction, ensuring compliance with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program.
Your responsibilities will include:
– Planning, implementing, and supervising project safety protocols, ensuring adherence to accident prevention and fire protection measures.
– Conducting comprehensive daily safety inspections of all active work areas and maintaining detailed documentation of these evaluations.
– Providing expert consultation to field staff regarding safety issues, policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
– Leading initial safety orientation sessions for newly hired employees, fostering a culture of safety from the onset.
– Monitoring housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
– Acting as the primary safety liaison between Caddell, project owners, and subcontractors.
– Preparing and submitting safety-related reports in a timely manner.
– Investigating incidents of accidents and property damage to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.
– Collaborating on additional assignments as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.
Working Conditions:
This position requires a full-time commitment in a construction setting, which may entail travel. Candidates must possess the ability to perform physical activities such as crawling, climbing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, and lifting over 50 lbs. Additionally, individuals should be able to work in confined spaces and at various heights while ensuring their own safety and that of others. Exposure to hot, cold, humid, and wet conditions may occur based on project locations.
Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.
What We Expect:
To be successful in this role, you should possess effective written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a solid understanding of applicable OSHA regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is also necessary.
Certifications and Licenses:
Candidates must hold OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and Competent Persons Training certifications.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED along with five years of experience in safety management is required. A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health and ten years of relevant experience are preferred, although specific requirements may vary based on job specifications.
