Job Description:

As the Safety Manager for our Commercial projects, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising project safety protocols to ensure compliance with Caddell’s Corporate Safety Program. Your role will be vital in fostering an environment that prioritizes accident prevention and fire protection across all phases of assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and enforce safety guidelines for all project areas to align with Caddell’s safety standards.
– Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager to create safe work plans tailored to various project phases and crew tasks.
– Conduct comprehensive daily safety inspections of active work sites, meticulously documenting findings.
– Advise field personnel on safety policies, procedures, and regulations to enhance compliance and awareness.
– Facilitate initial safety orientation sessions for new hires to instill a strong safety culture from the outset.
– Oversee housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
– Act as the primary construction safety liaison with project owners and subcontractors.
– Prepare and submit all necessary safety-related reports in a timely manner.
– Lead investigations following accidents and property damage incidents.
– Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.

Working Conditions:
This position requires full-time engagement in a construction environment, with periodic travel. The role entails physical demands such as crawling, climbing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and standing for extended periods. Candidates must be capable of lifting and carrying weights exceeding 50 lbs, and must navigate confined spaces and extreme heights safely. Exposure to varying weather conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and wet environments, is expected.

Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.

Expectations:
Ideal candidates will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a solid understanding of applicable OSHA regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint—is essential.

Certifications and Licenses:
– OSHA 30-hour Training
– First Aid/CPR Certification
– Competent Persons Training

Education/Experience:
A minimum of a high school diploma/GED and five years of experience in safety management is required. A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health with 10 years of experience is preferred. Educational and experiential prerequisites may adapt based on specific job demands.
