As a Safety Manager for our Commercial Mission Critical/Data Centers projects, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enforcing safety protocols within our Central Ohio location and other domestic sites in the future. Your responsibilities will include:
– Developing, implementing, and overseeing project safety guidelines while ensuring compliance with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program.
– Collaborating with the Corporate Safety Manager to create safe work plans for all phases of the project and for various crew tasks.
– Conducting comprehensive daily safety inspections of all active work areas, thoroughly documenting findings.
– Advising field staff on safety matters, company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
– Leading initial safety orientation sessions for new employees.
– Monitoring housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
– Acting as the construction safety liaison between owners and subcontractors.
– Preparing and submitting all mandated safety reports.
– Conducting investigations following accidents and property damage incidents.
– Executing additional assignments per the direction of the Corporate Safety Manager.
Working Conditions: This is a full-time position within a construction setting that requires travel. Candidates must possess physical capabilities, including crawling, climbing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, standing for extended periods, and lifting over 50 lbs. The role demands the ability to work in confined spaces and at extreme heights, managing tasks safely for oneself and others. Individuals will be subjected to various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and wet climates depending on the work location.
Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.
Expectations: We seek candidates with effective written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and working knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is essential.
Certifications and Licenses: Required certifications include OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and Competent Persons Training.
Education and Experience: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED, accompanied by five years of experience in safety management, is required. A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health, along with ten years of experience, is preferred. Education and experience requirements may vary based on specific job demands.
This position is assigned to a Mission Critical/Data Center project and is eligible for a market premium in addition to the base salary.
