Job Description:

We are seeking a Safety Manager for our Commercial Mission Critical/Data Centers, based primarily in Central Ohio with future travel opportunities to various domestic locations. Resumes will be reviewed on a continuous basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee project safety guidelines, ensuring that all accident and fire protection programs align with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program for the assigned project.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager to formulate safe work plans for all project phases and crew tasks.
  • Conduct comprehensive daily safety inspections across all active work areas and meticulously document findings.
  • Advise field staff on safety-related issues, policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Facilitate initial safety orientation sessions for newly hired employees.
  • Monitor housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Act as the construction safety liaison between the owner and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary safety-related reports.
  • Conduct investigations following accidents and property damage incidents.
  • Execute additional tasks as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.

Working Conditions:
This role will be conducted in a construction environment requiring travel, and full-time commitment. Candidates must possess the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for extended periods, and lift over 50 lbs. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively, endure confined spaces or extreme heights as necessary, and manage varying weather conditions including heat, cold, humidity, and wet environments.

Reporting Structure:
This position will report to the Corporate Safety Manager.

Expectations:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • A solid understanding of pertinent OSHA regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Competent Persons Training.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required, alongside at least five years of experience in safety management. This role, set within a Mission Critical/Data Center project, is eligible for a market premium in addition to the base salary.
