As a Safety Manager specializing in Commercial and Mission Critical/Data Center projects, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance across all assigned projects. This position, primarily based in Central Ohio, will also necessitate travel to various domestic locations in the future.
In your role, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising project safety guidelines, ensuring adherence to the Caddell Corporate Safety Program. You will collaborate closely with the Corporate Safety Manager to develop safe work plans for all phases of the project, while conducting comprehensive daily safety inspections of work areas and meticulously documenting these activities. Additionally, you will provide counsel to field staff concerning safety issues, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Your responsibilities will include conducting initial safety orientation sessions for new hires, monitoring housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment, and serving as the safety liaison with the owner and subcontractors. You will also be tasked with preparing and submitting all necessary safety-related reports, conducting investigations following accidents or property damage, and performing other assignments as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.
The working conditions will include a construction environment that requires full-time commitment and travel. You must possess physical capabilities to crawl, climb, walk, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, and lift objects weighing over 50 lbs, while also being able to navigate confined spaces and extreme heights. Exposure to various weather conditions will also be encountered.
We seek candidates who demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, possess strong organizational abilities, and have a working knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is essential. Relevant certifications, such as OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and Competent Persons Training, are required.
Candidates should have a minimum of a high school diploma/GED and five years of experience in safety management, with a preference for those holding a four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health alongside ten years of experience in the field.
