As a Safety Manager for our Commercial Mission Critical/Data Centers projects, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations. This position is primarily based in Central Ohio, with opportunities for travel to various domestic locations in the future. Resumes will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enforce project-specific safety guidelines in alignment with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager to create safe work plans for each phase of the project and for various crew tasks.
  • Conduct comprehensive daily safety inspections of all active work areas and meticulously document the findings.
  • Provide consultation to field staff regarding safety-related issues, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Deliver initial safety orientation sessions for newly hired employees.
  • Monitor and improve housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Act as the construction safety liaison between the owner and subcontractors to facilitate clear communication on safety matters.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary safety-related reports.
  • Investigate incidents involving accidents and property damage to determine causes and prevent future occurrences.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Corporate Safety Manager.

Working Conditions: This role is set in a construction environment that requires regular travel. Candidates must be capable of physical activities such as crawling, climbing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, standing for extended periods, and lifting over 50 pounds. It is essential to handle confined spaces and/or extreme heights safely. You may work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and wet environments.

Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.

Expectations:

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient written and verbal communication skills; exceptional organizational abilities; a solid understanding of relevant OSHA regulations; and competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Certifications Required: OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and Competent Person Training.
  • Education/Experience: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED with five years of experience in safety management is required. A four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health, along with 10 years of experience, is preferred. Note that education and experience requirements may vary based on specific job demands.

This position, focused on Mission Critical/Data Center projects, is also eligible for a market premium added to the base salary. The typical salary range is between $62,100 and $93,200 annually, and applicants are encouraged to provide their compensation expectations during the application process.
