Job description:

A Safety & Security Guard is tasked with ensuring the safety of hotel guests, employees, and property while fostering a welcoming atmosphere. This role entails maintaining a visible presence to provide guests with a sense of comfort and security. Depending on the hotel’s requirements, the guard may be stationed in the base office to oversee Associate entrance security and conduct temperature checks in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
  • Certificate of Completion in Safety and Security Training, compliant with state requirements.
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and the Heimlich maneuver.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance according to Aimbridge Hospitality standards, with scheduling flexibility to meet hotel needs.
  • Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including adherence to uniform and branding guidelines.
  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Manage phone inquiries and dispatch promptly, demonstrating proper two-way radio etiquette while maintaining constant radio contact with the Front Desk/Night Auditor.
  • Monitor activities in the Lobby area for visual contact with the Front Desk/Night Auditor and the hotel entrance during property patrols.
  • Maintain and review the daily activity log to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding guest and Associate incidents.
  • Conduct briefings with Guest Services staff at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Open secured areas for authorized personnel and check identification for visitors and Associates as required.
  • Remain aware of legal limitations relevant to the role, including local and state ordinances.
  • Assist guests with room access and escort them as necessary.
  • Investigate incidents such as room thefts, auto accidents, and assaults involving guests, serving as the first responder and collaborating with hotel leadership to document incidents.
  • Provide assistance to outside agencies when necessary.
  • Support the handling of intoxicated guests, as well as engage HR/MOD in managing Associate altercations.
  • Remain knowledgeable about hotel and guestroom locking systems.
  • Respond to security alarms and monitor CCTV footage, if applicable.
  • Address and challenge suspicious individuals as needed.
  • Conduct regular rounds to identify safety hazards, check lighting, door locks, and retrieve items left on the property.
  • Assist during medical emergencies, administering First Aid, CPR, or the Heimlich maneuver as required.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership to complete Incident/Accident Reports clearly and concisely.
  • Receive deliveries and fulfill guest room requests as necessary.
  • Assist the Front Desk with express check-outs, newspaper delivery, and transportation needs as appropriate.
  • Handle lost and found items in accordance with established standards.
  • Participate in special functions, attend meetings, and perform additional duties as required.
