Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of this role is to support store management in the day-to-day operations while fostering the development of associates and achieving both store and personal sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed established sales goals and performance standards.
  • Assist in training and developing a successful sales team.
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and accountability to all team members by enforcing company policies and practices.
  • Execute all opening and closing procedures in accordance with company policies.
  • Oversee daily store operations in the absence of store management.
  • Manage Loss Prevention practices during store management’s absence.
  • Communicate all store needs effectively to store management.
  • Perform bank deposits as required.
  • Complete assigned tasks and responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Fulfill all necessary training requirements.
  • Deliver a fun and comprehensive service experience to all customers.
  • Calmly resolve customer issues and inquiries.
  • Understand and exemplify the Journeys culture to the team.

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail sales experience is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • A desire to excel in a challenging retail environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Completion of all training programs leading up to the Sales Lead position or equivalent experience.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends.
  • Capability to climb, reach, bend, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
