Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the comprehensive sales efforts of the hotel, including acquiring new accounts, nurturing existing relationships, and executing targeted sales and marketing strategies to maximize hotel profitability.
- Develop and implement ongoing strategies for targeted account acquisition to foster new business and secure valuable contracts aimed at generating new revenue streams.
- Maintain a well-organized and accurate customer profile database to ensure efficient and knowledgeable service.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to create and maintain a robust marketing plan and sales budget.
- Schedule and conduct sales appointments, coordinating group and transient bookings to enhance profitability.
- Engage in proactive sales activities, including telemarketing, cold calls, email outreach, and prospecting.
- Innovate creative marketing strategies aimed at boosting hotel revenue.
- Organize, maintain, and analyze sales data for informed decision-making.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of rate management by evaluating business opportunities and adjusting rates to meet owner expectations.
- Respond promptly to all leads within a 24-hour timeframe and maintain continuous follow-up.
- Knowledgeably execute the sales process, backed by a proven sales success record.
- Develop and implement quarterly action plans targeting the university market.
- Complete tasks as assigned by the General Manager and other management personnel.
- Assist with any other sales-related duties as needed.
About You:
- High school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
- Prior sales experience in the hospitality industry is essential.
- A proven track record of sales success is necessary.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills are critical.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities are required.
- Experience in hotel-related sales management and familiarity with budgeting and business planning are mandatory.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management, is needed.
- Knowledge of automated sales office systems is preferred.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential.
- Exceptional communication skills, professional appearance, and demeanor are expected.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Must possess a tactful, confident demeanor with strong listening skills.
