Compensation Overview
– Competitive starting salary range of $52,000 to $55,000, commensurate with experience, during the training period. Following training, representatives will earn commissions plus a subsidy until their territory reaches full commission status. Top performers have the potential to earn in excess of $100,000 annually.
– Car allowance and mileage reimbursement provided through the CarData Program.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
Approximately 80% travel is required in this Sales Representative in Training role, which heavily emphasizes territory development. Candidates must possess the ability to drive to and from customer locations within the designated sales territory, which includes the Greater Detroit metro area and Ann Arbor. Some overnight travel may be necessary.

Responsibilities:
– Increase sales and profit margins through strategic execution of sales initiatives and effective territory management, developing tailored sales approaches for individual clients.
– Prospect and onboard new customer accounts, including proactive cold-calling, to maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
– Educate clients on convenience and foodservice programs, new product promotions, marketing guidelines, service protocols, delivery specifics, and industry updates.
– Collaborate with store managers to review daily, weekly, and monthly reports and address any emerging opportunities.
– Mitigate accounts receivable issues by monitoring account compliance with credit terms and addressing any encountered problems.
– Stay informed about pricing trends within the sales territory, particularly concerning product pricing, to ensure competitiveness.
– Identify prospects for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that could drive sales growth.
– Engage in relevant industry events and networking opportunities.
– Undertake additional duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:
– Proven success in closing sales across various B2B product lines.
– A demonstrated history of effective territory travel and time management skills.
– General understanding of food safety standards, including basic HACCP practices, cold-chain integrity, and the transportation of perishable goods; Serv-Safe certification is preferred.
– Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities, with a capacity to work independently with minimal guidance.
– Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to conduct professional, results-oriented customer presentations.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

Required Qualifications:
– High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
