Job Summary
The Scale House Attendant serves as the primary point of contact for customers depositing waste at the Waste Management Facility. This role involves calculating payments, verifying the safety of incoming loads, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations for both customers and employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To excel in this position, the individual must effectively perform the following essential duties, while additional minor tasks may be assigned:
- Welcome customers, guide them, and provide accurate responses to inquiries.
- Accurately calculate payments owed by customers.
- Confirm that incoming waste loads are compliant and do not contain prohibited materials.
- Ensure all transactions are conducted safely and that all personnel utilize the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the Scale House.
- Complete administrative duties, including regular filing and required reporting.
- Keep the immediate supervisor informed of any issues or situations needing attention.
- Participate in company-sponsored training sessions and meetings as required.
- Work overtime as necessary.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned, which may include data entry and minor customer service tasks.
- Approach all interactions with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly and service-focused manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not involve supervisory duties.
Qualifications
The qualifications required to perform this job are as follows:
A. Education and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. with no prior experience to four years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: High School Diploma or G.E.D. with specialized training alongside relevant experience.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, or Other Requirements:
