Job description:
The School Custodian is responsible for performing general cleaning duties across designated areas within a K-12 school, college, or university campus environment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- No prior experience is required; comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
- A high school diploma, GED, or college degree is not a prerequisite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service is advantageous.
- A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
- Sweep, remove debris, and mop floors in designated locations, while addressing spills promptly.
- Regularly empty trash receptacles as needed throughout all designated areas.
- Adhere to established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to safeguard floors and fixtures.
- Inform the lead cleaner or manager of any minor or major repairs or additions needed for the building’s operational systems.
- Foster effective communication and maintain strong working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
- Collect, consolidate, and properly sort recycling materials into designated receptacles.
- Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
- Polish hard surfaces, including woodwork and stainless steel.
- Wipe down and sanitize tabletops, chairs, and equipment in dining areas.
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to facilitate cleaning, utilizing hand trucks as necessary.
- Clean interior glass partitions, windows, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning agents and tools.
- Sweep pathways, rake leaves, mow lawns, remove snow, and perform other seasonal maintenance tasks as required.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of restrooms, including cleaning and polishing as needed.
- Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards set forth by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
