Job description:
The School Custodian is responsible for performing general cleaning duties in assigned areas within a K-12 school, college, or university campus environment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- No prior experience is required, as on-the-job training will be provided.
- A high school diploma, GED, or college degree is not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous customer service experience is desirable.
- At least one year of relevant work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain designated areas, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
- Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in specified locations.
- Regularly check and empty trash receptacles as needed throughout all designated areas.
- Adhere to procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Notify the lead cleaner or manager regarding any minor or major repairs needed for building operating systems.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
- Collect, consolidate, and properly separate recycling materials into designated receptacles.
- Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
- Polish hard surfaces, including woodwork and stainless steel surfaces.
- Wipe and sanitize tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food service areas.
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to facilitate cleaning, either manually or with hand trucks.
- Clean interior windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Perform incidental seasonal tasks, such as sweeping pathways, raking leaves, cutting grass, or removing snow.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, ensuring they are cleaned and polished as needed.
- Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
