Job description:

In addition to primary responsibilities, the Team Trainer plays a crucial role in fostering high engagement, productivity, and retention among New Members by organizing and delivering high-quality training within their designated team. Collaborating closely with Team Leadership, the Store Trainer at their location, Team Member Services Generalists, and other qualified Team Members, the Team Trainer ensures the timely completion of New Member Connections and facilitates Global, Regional, and department-specific training. This includes areas such as Operational Learning Pathways, Compliance, Occupational Safety, Food Safety, Product Knowledge, and Customer Service. The Team Trainer serves as a role model by maintaining a positive image and exemplifying customer-oriented service.

Principal Duties Specific to Team Trainer:

  • Successfully delivers and completes new and ongoing store and team training programs.
  • Adheres to training deadlines and objectives.
  • Coordinates with Team Leaders and the Store Trainer to schedule New Member training during their initial four shifts.
  • Collaborates with New Members, Team Leadership, and the Store Trainer to ensure the timely completion of New Member Connections, providing regular updates on progress.
  • Facilitates team-specific operational training for Team Members, including Operational Learning Pathways and program rollouts.
  • Participates in scheduled Team Trainer meetings.
  • Models and promotes adherence to food safety, sanitation procedures, and occupational safety standards.
  • Instructs all Team Members on customer service standards and identifies opportunities for timely feedback.
  • Educates Team Members about new products, including their distinctions, sales techniques, and placement within the department.
  • Consistently demonstrates proper care, use, and maintenance of team equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Completes the Team Trainer Operational Learning Pathway, obtains Team Trainer Certification, and fulfills other assigned training.
  • Familiarizes themselves with the Store Training Roles Handbook and engages with all communication platforms.
  • Organizes, tracks, and maintains accurate training records utilizing Whole Foods Market’s learning systems.

Duties Applicable to All Positions:

  • Punctually arrives at the workstation, appropriately groomed, and dressed in accordance with Whole Foods Market’s Dress Code policy; completes all scheduled shifts and attends required training sessions and meetings.
  • Delivers exemplary customer service, addressing customer needs efficiently and effectively while modeling suggestive selling techniques; responds promptly and courteously to phone calls and pages.
  • Maximizes sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
  • Ensures compliance with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, Health and Sanitation, and Safe Work Practices.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work and shopping environment; upholds equipment in line with Whole Foods Market’s cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Completes assigned opening, mid, and closing duties, ensuring accuracy in signage and pricing.
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned by Store, Regional, or Global Leadership.
