Job description:
Provides comprehensive clerical support to staff members and assists in the processing of county park records. Responsible for delivering exemplary customer service to the public, collecting and accurately recording fees for park reservations and other payments. Duties include answering phone inquiries, typing various forms and documents, and maintaining record-keeping systems.

This is a full-time, benefited position with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, at the Park Operations Center located at 16777 Fillmore Street, West Olive, MI 49460.

Essential Job Functions:
The core responsibilities of this role encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

– Provide assistance to the public by addressing inquiries in person, via telephone, fax, or email regarding the park system, departmental policies and procedures, documentation, reservation requests, and obtaining special documentation for distribution to park supervisors.
– Maintain an organized filing system.
– Receipt and balance daily revenue for the Nature Education Center and various park services, fees, and reservations; prepare deposits for submission to the Treasurer’s Office.
– Enter data into various computer systems and maintain the mailing database.
– Draft a variety of correspondence, reports, contracts, and other documentation for the department.
– Prepare and process outgoing mail while receiving and distributing incoming correspondence.
– Process and record purchase order requests as directed by the Administrative Assistant.
– Handle P-card transactions and invoices on behalf of all Parks staff.
– Perform other assigned functions as required.

Required Education, Training, and Experience:
A high school diploma or GED is required, complemented by a minimum of two years of front desk office experience, including proficiency with various computer programs and office equipment.

– Solid understanding of general office protocols, practices, and procedures.
– Proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, and database management software.
