Job description:

The Security Guard, under the direction of the Security Supervisor, is tasked with ensuring the safety and protection of both internal and external customers, as well as the Casino complex. This role involves delivering attentive, cheerful, courteous, and professional customer service to all patrons, consistently striving to exceed their expectations.

Essential Functions (including but not limited to):

  • Monitor the Casino facility and patrol the premises to secure and protect team members, customers, and Company assets.
  • Address a variety of situations, such as providing escorts, managing intoxicated customers, and coordinating with law enforcement, fire departments, or medical agencies during emergencies.
  • Report any incidents occurring during the shift to management and complete necessary incident reports.
  • Respond to calls for assistance and investigate any disturbances.
  • Provide secure escorts for team members handling cash to the Casino Cage area.
  • Execute jackpot payouts for customers on the Gaming Floor.

Additional Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Transport table fills to the Gaming Floor.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Engage with immediate peers, colleagues in other departments, direct supervisors/managers, managers from other divisions, executives, customers, outside vendors/service providers, and law enforcement personnel.

Physical Requirements:
This position is classified as medium duty, with the capability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds and frequent lifting/carrying of up to 25 pounds. Physical demands include constant standing and walking, regular use of hearing, frequent pushing/pulling, and engagement of near/midrange/far vision and color/field of vision. Occasional tasks may involve sitting, carrying/lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and manual handling. Working conditions may vary, involving constant exposure to noise and dim lighting, with occasional exposure to outdoor elements, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Potential hazards include continuous client interaction and occasional exposure to electric shock, chemicals, infectious materials, needles/syringes, and equipment use.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: No prior experience is required.
  • Certification/License: Candidates must possess, or be able to obtain, AED, First Aid, CPR, and Pressure Point Certification upon hire. Training will be provided. A criminal background investigation will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission.

Candidates should have knowledge of or the ability to learn word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with a diverse range of audiences and settings. Flexibility to work extended hours as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required. Maintaining confidentiality is critical. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and the general public is essential, along with the capacity to work under pressure and manage challenging situations. Preference will be given to Native American candidates.
