In this dual-role position, you will encompass essential responsibilities in both IT operations and security leadership. You will oversee our internal IT infrastructure to ensure seamless daily operations for our team. More critically, you will lead security initiatives across the organization, addressing aspects that span product development, cloud hosting, and customer-facing SaaS offerings. Your mission will be to uphold compliance with industry standards, protect our data and infrastructure, and implement robust risk management strategies that enhance our technology. Responsibilities:
Security Management
- Maintain and update security policies, including the Information Security Policy, Data Retention, and Risk Management.
- Lead Security Advisory Board meetings and coordinate security initiatives across the organization.
- Conduct annual risk assessments and maintain a comprehensive risk register.
- Manage the vendor assessment program by reviewing and evaluating vendors’ security documentation.
- Oversee SOC 2 compliance, ISO 27001 compliance, and other certification processes, ensuring our SaaS product meets established industry standards.
- Respond to customer security questionnaires and RFPs related to our product security practices.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement secure coding practices and conduct security testing.
- Ensure data security with appropriate access controls, encryption, and audit procedures.
- Guide the implementation of security controls for cloud systems, primarily Google Cloud, hosting our SaaS applications.
- Develop and enforce security standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Verify compliance with security requirements specified in customer and partner agreements.
- Support incident response planning and exercises for infrastructure and product-related security events.
- Design and deliver security awareness training programs for employees.
IT Administration
- Manage employee accounts and services across Google Workspace, SaaS applications, and development platforms.
- Lead the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, ensuring timely provisioning and de-provisioning of accounts.
- Administer and support mobile devices, laptops, and other hardware throughout their lifecycle.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems and procedures.
- Foster positive relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
Key Functions
- Continuously enhance security policies, processes, and controls.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and frameworks.
- Lead security and IT initiatives that support company growth.
- Balance operational IT responsibilities with strategic security planning.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee IT needs and security concerns.
Requirements
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT administration and information security, specifically within SaaS environments (Required).
- Proven experience managing Google Workspace and other cloud-based productivity tools (Required).
- In-depth experience with account lifecycle management and identity systems (Required).
- Deep understanding of security frameworks, including SOC 2, NIST, and ISO 27001 (Required).
- Expertise in cloud security, particularly with Google Cloud Platform (Required).
- Strong background in managing compliance and certification processes (Required).
- Excellent documentation and communication skills (Required).
- Understanding of DevOps and software development processes (Required).
- Experience with implementing and managing endpoint security solutions (Required).
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are preferred.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or observability platforms is preferred.
- A background in software development or engineering is an asset (Preferred).
- Experience with incident response and security event management is preferred.
- Familiarity with automated security tooling and controls is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) is preferred.
