  • Monday to Friday 1st Shift

Location: Battle Creek

Primary Responsibilities:
As an unarmed Security Officer at DK Security, your duties will vary according to the location assigned. Current openings are at a research facility situated in downtown Grand Rapids, MI, where responsibilities may include:

  • Access Control: Ensuring that only authorized staff enter the facility, with all visitors escorted by staff.
  • Foot Patrol: Monitoring the interior of the facility to identify and address security, safety, and maintenance concerns.

Success as a Security Officer at DK Security will involve:

  • Reliability: Arriving on time, in uniform, and ready for your shift.
  • Friendly Demeanor: Providing outstanding customer service while adhering to client policies and enforcing regulations.
  • Policy Adherence: Readily interpreting and following written post guidelines and ensuring all tasks are completed throughout the shift.
  • De-escalation Techniques: Utilizing effective communication strategies to defuse potentially volatile situations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • No felony convictions; ability to pass a criminal background check in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test upon hire and through random testing thereafter.
  • Must present a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances and navigating stairs.
    • Capable of occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations promptly.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • On-the-Job Training (OJT): Engage in 2-40+ hours of site-specific training to familiarize yourself with client policies and procedures.
