We are currently seeking a Security Officer – Unarmed, offering a compensation of $17.00 per hour for the shift of 12 am to 8 am on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Opportunities for growth and advancement are available.
As a Security Professional, you will be responsible for conducting unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols within a hospital environment. Your duties will include controlling access and egress, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, composing reports, and deterring criminal activity and misconduct. Given the sensitive nature of this role, candidates must be able to successfully pass a drug screening to the extent permissible by law. This position may also require a tuberculosis (TB) test and certain vaccinations due to the healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct security patrols of hospital grounds either on foot or in a vehicle; meticulously document observations of any unusual conditions that may pose security or safety risks.
- Assist hospital staff in de-escalating situations involving patients and, when necessary, restrain combative individuals in accordance with company and client guidelines.
- Transport patients to the morgue as required.
- Facilitate the safe transport of patients from the helicopter pad to the emergency room.
- Assist with evacuations during fire incidents, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
- Activate alarms or contact emergency services in crises, such as fires or unauthorized access.
- Alert individuals to infractions, including loitering, smoking, or the possession of prohibited items.
- Manage access to the property, ensuring that only authorized personnel enter and exit while preventing contraband from being smuggled in or out.
- Monitor departing personnel to safeguard against theft and ensure the authorized removal of property adheres to client regulations.
- Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, maintaining written logs as necessary.
Qualifications (Required):
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license if operating a company or customer-owned vehicle.
- Compliance with state and/or local licensure requirements may be necessary prior to employment.
- A minimum of two years of verifiable experience in customer service or the protective service industry, preferably in security, healthcare, military, law enforcement, or corrections.
- Must be at least 18 years of age, or older if mandated by the state.
- Proficient in using radio or telephone communication equipment and console monitors.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact amiably with the public.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven problem-solving and active listening skills.
- Capacity to accurately assess situations and promptly identify critical issues.
- Skilled in mediating conflicts with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to write clearly, informatively, and with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Military experience in law enforcement or security roles, including Military Police or Elite Military Forces, or any support role in a combat zone.
- Graduation from a Certified Public Safety Academy, either military or civilian, or relevant work experience in law enforcement or emergency services.
- Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice fields.
- A minimum of eight years of service in any branch of the military.
- Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) in law enforcement or criminal justice, accompanied by current or prior active military service.
