As a Selling and Support Captain, you will serve as both a customer advocate and a role model for your peers. In this elevated hourly position, you will demonstrate expertise in customer satisfaction, merchandising, and brand loyalty while driving results through promotional and omni-channel selling initiatives. Reporting to a People Leader, you will play a crucial role in articulating expectations and priorities to your colleagues. What you will do:
– Depending on your Captain assignment, you may manage customer orders, merchandising, process new products, or oversee the selling floor to deliver exceptional customer service.
– Lead colleagues in executing and completing assigned tasks.
– Advocate for customers by embodying our values and providing immediate feedback to enhance their experience.
– Maintain a high level of customer service through effective problem-solving and customer-focused resolutions.
– Elevate the in-store experience by promoting our Macy’s mobile app.
– Collaborate with People Leaders to plan and monitor overall store activities throughout the day.
– Continuously provide feedback to People Leaders that enhances customer experiences and streamlines our processes.
– Perform opening and closing procedures, including managing the alarm system and settling registers.
– Lead and ensure adherence to our best-in-class merchandise standards.
– Educate colleagues on point-of-sale technology and related applications to support the selling and fulfillment of customer orders.

Who you are:

Essential Physical Requirements:
– Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods (at least two consecutive hours).
– Frequent use of computer systems and handheld electronic devices.
– Capacity for reaching (including above eye level), crouching, kneeling, stooping, and distinguishing colors.
– Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 lbs.
