Job description:
Under general supervision, the incumbent will engage in responsible technical work within the field of traffic engineering, focusing on the investigation and analysis of traffic and transportation challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive investigations, data collection, and analysis pertaining to traffic conditions, with an emphasis on traffic flows.
2. Perform detailed design studies and analyses related to traffic issues, specifically concerning the design and positioning of traffic structures and accessories.
3. Evaluate alternative traffic control devices for their effectiveness and provide recommendations on the selection and arrangement of the chosen equipment.
4. Oversee the preparation of maps and layouts for proposed traffic structures, highlighting their general characteristics.
5. Assign and outline detailed tasks to subordinate staff, providing guidance on objectives and procedures, while reviewing their work throughout the process and upon completion.
6. Supervise Assistant Engineers and other technical personnel as necessary.
7. Develop standardized methods and forms for the systematic collection and presentation of traffic data.
8. Innovate techniques for conducting traffic surveys.
Minimum Qualifications:
– A Bachelor’s degree in a traffic engineering or traffic planning-related discipline.
– A minimum of three years of experience in traffic control within urban contexts, along with expertise in statistical analysis and reporting of traffic data.
– One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
