The Senior Microsoft 365 Cloud Engineer will play a crucial role in facilitating organizations’ migrations to Microsoft 365, as well as upgrading their existing 365 services. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft 365 platform and services, demonstrated service configuration and troubleshooting expertise, and familiarity with on-premises Exchange and Active Directory services. This engineer will be responsible for hands-on implementation and support for Microsoft 365 migrations, including design, architecture, configuration, migration best practices, and strategies aimed at achieving operational KPIs. In collaboration with Project Managers and Lead Engineers, the engineer will assist in gathering and analyzing requirements, designing solutions, and executing migrations, all while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Strong creative, communication, and collaboration skills are essential, as the engineer will work closely with end customers, Lead Cloud Engineers, and the Project Management Office (PMO) on all new implementations. This role will significantly impact the customer experience both prior to and following implementation, serving as a technical escalation point for customers requiring assistance during migrations and for support escalations needing additional support.

Technical Skill Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in migrating multiple business units to a unified Office 365 environment.
  • Administrative experience with Microsoft Office 365 cloud technologies, including Office, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and OneDrive.
  • Proficiency in implementing Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, and Azure AD.
  • Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) implementation.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and configuring Exchange 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, Exchange Hybrid servers, and Exchange Online.
  • Administrative and configuration knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Hands-on setup and configuration experience with Windows Server 2003 to 2019.
  • Experience in Exchange Online Protection.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee O365 tenant creation, account takeovers, licensing changes, and email security implementation.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of complex Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange solutions.
  • Collaborate with peer and senior engineers on complex implementations.
  • Manage user access and accounts effectively.
  • Provide hands-on administration of Microsoft Office 365 cloud technologies including Azure, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Teams Audio Conferencing, and Intune.
  • Engage in ongoing self-directed training on O365 updates as part of Microsoft releases.
  • Develop, maintain, and update O365 governance documentation in collaboration with product owners and senior implementation engineers.
  • Maintain PowerShell scripts for managing and supporting the O365 environment across various applications, including Azure and SharePoint.
  • Partner with IT and external workgroups for the integration of applications that support Office 365 solutions.
  • Assist staff with troubleshooting complex technical issues faced by both internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical support while ensuring uptime meets IT standards.
  • Address production issues experienced by O365 users.
  • Be available for on-call responsibilities and after-hours migration tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Educational & Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience; alternative qualifications may include a master’s degree with 4 years’ experience, a Ph.D. with 1 year of experience, or 18 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong communication, presentation, writing, and editorial skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively driving results and setting priorities.

Compensation:
The base salary for this position ranges from $97,100.00 to $161,800.00, depending on factors including the position’s location and the selected candidate’s skills, knowledge, and experience. Additional compensation opportunities may be available through an incentive program.
