Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 15 years of leadership experience, encompassing roles in operations, production, continuous improvement (CI), and supply chain within a manufacturing context.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the investment casting industry is preferred.
- Proven leadership skills that foster an engaged employee environment.
- Ability to drive enhancements through the application of lean manufacturing principles, total quality practices, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong technical grasp of manufacturing processes.

- Familiarity with tooling, molds, and dies associated with the Investment Casting, Injection Molding, or Stamping industries is advantageous.
The selected candidate will join us at the Plant 3, Whitehall Casting Operation, where they will take on the role of Operations Manager. This position is integral in providing leadership focused on manufacturing excellence, customer satisfaction, and the continuous improvement of plant performance indicators including quality, productivity, cycle time, delivery, and cash flow.
Job Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety regulations and department-specific safety requirements.
- Oversee Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and production value added by department.
- Drive daily shipment targets and profitability goals.
- Champion the safety of all employees by promoting a clean and secure working environment.
- Enhance manufacturing planning, execution, and shop floor discipline.
- Lead plant efforts in adopting ABS and lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Identify and eliminate non-value-added waste across operations.
- Improve product flow and implement methods that minimize labor content.
- Nurture the professional and personal development of team leaders, cell facilitators, supervisors, and manufacturing support personnel.
- Promptly address any safety issues or non-compliance occurrences.
- Encourage reporting of Injury Free Events (IFE).
- Manage applicable department budgets effectively.
- Foster strong relationships and communication with Howmet’s customers.
- Collaborate with the plant manager and staff to develop budgets, strategic plans, and organizational goals that align with business unit objectives.
- Cascade goals and objectives throughout the organization.
- Participate in location-specific and corporate teams as required.
- Ensure exceptional delivery performance.
- Conduct capacity analyses to enhance standard work accuracy and effectiveness.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives to bolster profitability.
- Utilize lean manufacturing tools to minimize work-in-progress (WIP) and cycle time.
- Communicate pertinent information clearly to staff, customers, and management.
- Comprehend constraint management and OEE, applying techniques to exploit constraints for improvement.
- Lead the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies and initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering personnel regarding modifications to processes that enhance production and product quality.
- Provide leadership in safety and continuous improvement endeavors.
