Position Overview:
As a Senior Solution Engineer, you will work alongside a team of skilled engineers and consultants, leveraging cutting-edge technology to design and implement solutions that address our clients’ specific business needs. You will engage with both technical and business decision-makers, ensuring that proposed solutions align with the latest offerings from Apex Digital and Microsoft.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute implementation, migration, and administration tasks related to Apex’s solution offerings, utilizing the qualifications and skills outlined below.
- Assess client security postures and recommend or deploy appropriate tools, policies, or settings.
- Conduct assessments and discovery sessions to define project scopes, estimates, and proposals for clients.
- Participate in pre-sales meetings with the sales team, creating estimates and statements of work based on discussions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant concepts, skills, and certifications.
- Effectively manage time to meet targeted billable utilization goals.
- Support team members in presenting recommended solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for internal use and external presentations, including as-built documentation and solution architecture.
- Address escalated support and administrative needs for the Apex Managed Services delivery team.
- Provide ongoing mentorship, guidance, and knowledge transfer to junior team members.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365/Office 365.
- Experience in Windows Server deployment and administration.
- Knowledge of server virtualization deployment and management (Hyper-V and VMware).
- Familiarity with the deployment and management of network and security hardware solutions (firewalls, routers, switches).
- Expertise in backup and restore solution management.
- Experience in identity management and SSO (Active Directory and Entra ID).
- Proficient in Microsoft Teams, including collaboration, calling, and meetings.
- Experience in Microsoft Teams Meeting Rooms (room and A/V design/implementation).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Voice.
- Familiarity with Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (or other RMM or MDM experience).
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Infrastructure (Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, storage, gateways, etc).
- Intermediate to advanced PowerShell proficiency.
