Job description:

A Vaco client in Hebron, Ohio, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to enhance their infrastructure environment on-site, five days a week. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the configuration, support, and maintenance of both network and server systems. Key responsibilities will also include addressing hardware failures, as well as resolving connectivity and security challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar capacity, demonstrating hands-on proficiency in network configuration and management.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and HTTP/HTTPS, along with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with network hardware, such as routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as familiarity with network monitoring tools.
  • Proficient in network configuration, VLANs, IP routing, and subnetting, with a focus on identifying essential backups and implementing robust contingency plans to ensure continuous operations during emergencies.
  • Ability to physically locate and transport computer equipment, which necessitates walking, seeing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated skill in analyzing, creating, and enhancing operational procedures, developing policies, and implementing effective strategies.
  • Availability to operate computer terminals for extended periods; a commitment to over 40 hours per week with on-call responsibilities 24/7.
