Job description:
Position Summary:
The Senior Vice President and General Manager at Gun Lake Casino Resort will oversee and manage all facets of the casino resort’s operations. This includes the development and execution of a strategic business plan aimed at maximizing profitability, enhancing team member engagement, and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction. The role requires leading and mentoring the executive team, driving operational efficiency, and cultivating a culture that embodies the core values of Gun Lake Casino Resort. Collaboration with the Tribal Gaming Commission and the Authority Board is essential to ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates while promoting the development of Tribal Preference team members. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in gaming and hospitality management, demonstrate strong business acumen, and maintain a steadfast commitment to the highest standards of customer service and organizational integrity.

In this Role:
– Oversee the day-to-day operations of Gun Lake Casino.
– Develop and implement an annual business plan focused on profitability, team member engagement, guest satisfaction, and tribal development.
– Manage and assess the performance of the casino’s executive team and staff.
– Provide leadership in the formulation and oversight of fiscal budgets, operational strategies, and initiatives aimed at achieving short-term and long-term profitability.
– Collaborate with departments to establish key performance indicators ensuring exceptional guest service across all areas of the property.
– Promote innovative ideas and methods to enhance business solutions, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements or service enhancements.
– Maintain the property’s established standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
– Create and implement communication tools to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely information dissemination throughout the property.
– Foster a work environment that encourages teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
– Build credibility within the organization, serving as an effective listener and problem solver for employee-related issues.

Essential Qualifications:
– A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred, with concentrations in business, finance, or hospitality/casino management. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
– A minimum of fifteen (15) years of combined experience in gaming and hospitality management is required.
– At least five (5) years of executive management experience at a resort or gaming property, serving in a General Manager or Assistant General Manager capacity at locations with a minimum of 1,800 slots, 50 tables, 200 hotel rooms, 1,000 team members, and multiple food, beverage, and entertainment venues.
– Proven ability to effectively respond to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
– Superior business skills and the ability to utilize data to inform decision-making.
– Advanced skills in managing increasingly complex challenges.
– Demonstrated experience in strategic planning.
– Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
– A strong sense of responsibility and urgency in meeting deadlines.
– A robust background in public relations, interpersonal communication, and supervision.
