As a Server Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide a warm and welcoming experience for all guests, coordinating their movement within the restaurant in a timely and organized manner. Essential Functions:

  • Extend a friendly and positive greeting to all guests, fostering personal connections to ensure they feel welcome and valued
  • Warmly welcome guests upon their arrival and express gratitude as they depart, holding the door whenever possible
  • Assign suitable seating to guests based on their needs and ensure servers maintain an equitable distribution of tables
  • Assist with table service by:
    • Refilling beverages
    • Clearing dishes
    • Fetching and delivering items
    • Pre-bussing tables, clearing and cleaning them
    • Sanitizing menus
  • Manage phone inquiries, take reservations, and process to-go orders
  • Ensure restrooms are presentable and stocked, performing cleaning as needed
  • Maintain the Server Assistant stand, ensuring it is always well-stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., crayons, kids’ menus)
  • Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum knowledge: Ability to interpret and extract information as well as perform basic arithmetic functions; strong communication skills are essential

Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:

  • Uniform: A uniform shirt and nametag will be provided; team members must supply their own pants and shoes that adhere to Suburban Inns’ specifications. Acceptable pants include black slacks or dark wash jeans without holes (yoga-style pants are not permitted). Shoes must be black, close-toed, and slip-resistant.
  • Appearance: Hair must be well-groomed, and all visible facial piercings and tattoos not covered by the uniform must receive management approval. Tattoos deemed offensive based on various sensitive characteristics must be concealed at all times. This policy will be enforced by the supervisor of the position, adhering to all regulations regarding protected characteristics. The Vice President of Operations reserves the right to override any decisions made by the supervisor.
