Position Summary:
You will be responsible for providing attentive food and beverage service to all guests, ensuring compliance with local health regulations and aligning with Suburban Inns’ Core Values. Your proactive approach will be essential in achieving 100% guest satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
- Welcome all guests warmly and positively, fostering personal connections to make them feel valued.
- Prepare your section before lunch/dinner service by ensuring cleanliness and organization (wipe tables, clean window sills, etc.).
- Accurately take orders from guests in accordance with Big E’s service procedures.
- Verify that guests requesting alcohol provide proper identification and are of legal drinking age.
- Proactively address any potential issues related to excessive drinking in accordance with TIPS training.
- Ensure the accuracy of bills presented to guests.
- Manage all cash and credit transactions following standard operating procedures.
- Communicate any guest complaints to the supervisor promptly and follow the One More Step guidelines to resolve issues effectively.
- Complete assigned shift responsibilities, including pre-bussing tables and assisting teammates where needed.
- Perform closing duties efficiently.
- Set up and break down the patio area during the season.
- Adhere to all Suburban Inns processes.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Carry out any additional duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum Knowledge: Ability to interpret and extract information and perform basic arithmetic functions. Strong communication skills are essential.
- Formal Education and Experience: No specific formal education or job-related experience required.
- Certification: TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol Certification (may be obtained upon hire).
- Work Schedule: Availability to work a flexible schedule encompassing day, evening, night, holiday, and weekend shifts, as demanded by business needs.
- Required Travel: No travel is necessary; work is conducted on the property.
Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:
- Uniform: A shirt and nametag will be provided. Team members must supply their own pants and shoes that comply with Suburban Inns standards. Acceptable pants include black slacks or dark wash jeans without holes (no yoga-style). Shoes must be black, closed-toed, and non-slip.
- Appearance: Hair should be well-groomed. Approval from management is required for any facial piercings and visible tattoos that are not covered by the uniform. Tattoos deemed offensive based on sensitive characteristics must remain concealed at all times, and decisions regarding this policy will be made by the position’s supervisor, with oversight from the Vice President of Operations.
