We are actively seeking servers for our dining room to warmly greet and serve our community members in Madison Heights’ newest independent living residence for seniors. Our modern facility is designed for the next generation of seniors, and we are dedicated to providing an engaging and enjoyable dining experience.

As a Server, you will be responsible for setting tables, taking orders, clearing and busing tables, washing dishes, assisting the cook as needed, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the dining area.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve food and beverages to patrons in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Provide detailed information to assist patrons in making food and beverage selections.
  • Present ordered items promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain a welcoming dining ambiance through an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Prepare the dining room in accordance with the chef’s instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies to protect both the establishment and patrons.
  • Assist patrons with food and beverage selections by suggesting courses and explaining chef specialties.
  • Record patrons’ orders and special requests to transmit to the bar and kitchen.
  • Keep kitchen staff informed about meal timing and progression.
  • Serve orders by retrieving and delivering items from the bar and kitchen, along with accompaniments and condiments.
  • Address additional patron needs by proactively inquiring and observing the dining process.
  • Maintain table settings by removing completed courses, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being attentive to any spills or special requirements.
  • Execute cleaning duties, including dishwashing, and maintaining cleanliness in floors, walls, equipment, storage areas, prep areas, the dining room, and outside receiving and dumpster areas.
  • Wash and store dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment. Deliver trays to community members’ apartments as needed.
  • Attend required training sessions.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handlers permit as mandated by state regulations.
  • Must verify eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
  • Current TB test and physical (if required by the position).

Requirements:

  • Availability to work at least every other weekend.
  • Capability to lift 50 pounds and support up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequent kneeling, crouching, and bending is required.
  • Must be able to stand for the entirety of the shift.
