Job description:
The Shift Lead must possess open availability to meet the demands of the role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Assist in the training and development of a high-performing team of Member Service Representatives.
– Ensure a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests while upholding exceptional customer service standards.
– Support staff management and provide backup to the Assistant Club Manager(s) as needed.
– Oversee staff supervision to maintain operational efficiency.
– Monitor member service quality to guarantee that an exceptional customer experience is provided at all times.
– Address and escalate employee issues or concerns as appropriate.
– Engage in all front desk-related activities, which include:
– Answering phone calls in a friendly manner and assisting callers with various inquiries.
– Checking members into the system.
– Facilitating new member sign-ups.
– Conducting tours for prospective members.
– Addressing all member requests, issues, and inquiries.
– Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.
– Track and report on statistics (weekly, monthly, and annually).
– Provide backup support for any absent team member.
Qualifications/Requirements:
– Exceptional customer service skills, ideally within the fitness industry.
– Open availability is a must.
– Prior experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness is preferred.
– Strong supervisory, diplomatic, and listening abilities.
– Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Suite and Apple applications.
– A hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic disposition.
– Excellent problem-solving skills.
– Current CPR certification is preferred.
– Tanning Operator Certification is preferred.
– High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
– Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Demands:
– The role requires continual standing and walking throughout the shift.
– Frequent verbal communication, both in-person and via phone, is necessary.
– The ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. is required.
