Job description:
The Shift Lead position requires candidates to demonstrate open availability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Collaborate in training and developing a high-performing team of Member Service Representatives.
– Foster a welcoming environment for all members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring that staff adheres to exceptional customer service standards.
– Provide assistance in staff management and serve as backup support to the Assistant Club Manager(s) as needed.
– Supervise staff operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
– Oversee member service by ensuring that the team consistently delivers a superior customer experience.
– Assist in addressing or escalating employee issues or concerns as necessary.
– Engage in all front desk-related activities, including:
– Answering phone calls in a friendly manner and addressing a variety of inquiries.
– Checking members into the system efficiently.
– Facilitating new member sign-ups.
– Conducting tours for prospective members.
– Managing all member requests, issues, and inquiries.
– Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
– Track statistics and generate reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
– Provide backup support for any employee who is absent.
Qualifications/Requirements:
– Exceptional customer service skills, ideally in the fitness industry.
– Open availability is essential.
– Previous experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness is preferred.
– Strong supervisory, diplomatic, and listening abilities.
– Basic proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Suite and Apple).
– A dedicated, enthusiastic, and energetic work ethic.
– Strong problem-solving capabilities.
– Current CPR certification is preferred.
– Tanning Operator Certification is a plus.
– High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Physical Demands:
