In this position, you will load and unload vessels safely and efficiently, ensuring optimal service to clients. You will develop technical competencies on the job while performing routine tasks in accordance with established standard operating procedures. Tasks will be completed with a close to moderate level of supervision, and you will be expected to understand how your tasks interconnect with other roles, facilitating information exchange within your workgroup.
As part of your responsibilities, you will use existing procedures to address straightforward problems, managing your assigned tasks and ensuring the accuracy of your work. You will receive guidance and supervision to support your development in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Package finished goods in compliance with DOT/IATA/IMDG regulations.
- Ensure products are packaged according to customer specifications and special instructions.
- Accurately document order shipping details, including the number of cartons or pallets, gross weights, and dimensions.
- Maintain organization of shipping supplies and packaging components, while overseeing inventory control.
- Safely operate a fork truck for various operations.
- Stretch wrap pallets for shipment.
- Process samples and shipments using UPS and FedEx.
- Be available for potential planned or unplanned overtime.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
- Load and unload trailers as needed.
- Actively participate in safety walkthroughs and initiatives.
- Exhibit attention to detail and maintain composure under pressure.
- Print labels from various printers including CAB/TEC/Xerox.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Ability to obtain DG/Dangerous Goods Certification within the first six months.
- Must possess a current, valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting of materials weighing up to 50 lbs with assistance.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Standing for approximately 80% of work time.
- Working in environments with hazardous materials.
Preferred Skills:
- Two or more years of manufacturing or relevant experience.
- Prior experience with safe fork truck operation.
- Familiarity with SAP and ADC systems.
- Proficiency in computer skills necessary for job functions.
